Following are the top 10 issues (in no particular order) the J.L.A. Party believes in.
1. Economic and Job Development:
As a party who believes in economic equality, we believe that Canada’s citizens and government should both play a role in the country’s economy. The J.L.A. Party supports giving the citizens freedom with their money, with some government control to ensure a balanced economy.
To accommodate for our belief of economic equality, the J.L.A. Party is looking to completely remove Provincial Sales Tax (PST). We believe that the PST is an unnecessary cost for Canadian citizens, and the country can still continue to thrive through Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Income Tax. To adjust to the lower taxes, GST will be raised to 6% from 5%. Here are the things that the J.L.A. Party would like to spend taxes on:
2. Social Programs
We believe that having social programs available for everyone in the country is important. These social programs would include but not limited to; education, healthcare, and pensions & support for seniors. These social programs would be funded by the taxes paid by all citizens. We believe in the idea of cooperation and think paying taxes are important for the good of our entire society. The taxes YOU pay will benefit YOU, and you can count on the J.L.A. Party to ensure this.
3. Environment
The J.L.A. Party is in favour of supporting the environment and addressing issues which the citizens find important. We propose to increase the protection of untouched land to ensure it stays that way, and to protect constantly threatened animals by changing the definition of animals in danger. We believe that we must give the wildlife their habitat free of humans constantly interfering, in order to benefit both Canadian wilderness and the people of Canada.
While we support the protection of nature, we also support cultural values such as hunting. The J.L.A. Party supports hunting, so long as rules are followed. Things like a hunting license will be absolutely necessary to ensure public and natural safety.
4. International Affairs
The J.L.A. is strongly aware of the fact that Canada would be a much more thriving country with the help of others. We believe in the motto of assisting and getting assisted in return. We propose cordial and strong relationships with other countries for a few reasons: first and foremost, trade plays an essential role in boosting our economy. Secondly, we see the need to assist other countries on the light that we may call upon them in our own time of needs. Strong bonding such as this between nations can not only increase the world’s economy, but better the social issues that currently exist in the world.
5. Equality
Canada should be a society with equal citizens, where there is no discrimination against anyone because of beliefs, race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, etc. Our plan to establish a strong society in which this happens is to tighten laws on equality. Eqaulity rights exist in Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the highest law in Canada. The J.L.A. Party believes that the Charter should be respected and followed in the best possible ways. To achieve this, we propose to increase fines for violation of anyone’s Charter rights.
Alongside this, we would also like to make our country more accessible to all. This could be anything from more wheelchair ramps for disabled persons to language classes for immigrants.
6. Justice:
Safety is a very large priority for us. We want to focus on giving citizens freedom while still ensuring safety and justice to all. For Youth, we would like to make some changes to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) by making some laws more stricter and harsher. While we believe in rehabilitation and reintegration, it must be made clear to youth as to what is acceptable and what is not. For the Criminal Code of Canada (CCOC), we are looking to introduce more rehabilitation and reintegration for adults as it is proven effective with youth.
Weaponry Laws:
We believe that Guns should be allowed as a tool for hunting and recreational use. However, the misuse or illegal use of these weapons can and will lead to critical punishments based on the severity of the crime. Handguns should be legal to purchase only for the intentions of recreational or cultural hunting and only at certain stores monitored by the government. If a handgun is purchased there will be a 5 year annually handguns and firearms license update. The misuse of these particular weapons is strictly monitored and forbidden, and will lead to very detrimental consequences.
7. Drugs and Alcohol
In consideration for the safety and health of all citizens we believe that all drugs, including cigarettes, should be illegal and would have severe fines and penalties for anyone who breaks these laws. In addition to this there will be limitations on how much alcohol can be purchased by any one person at any given time. This too will have large fines for breaking the law.
The J.LA. Party does not support the legalization of Marijuana as we believe there are many more cons to the issue rather than pros.
8. FNMI (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) Rights:
We believe that Aboriginal groups in Canada are self sustainable and believe that they don’t need as much government funds as earlier. The J.L.A. Party respects and values the Aboriginals and will ensure they receive everything they were promised from earlier treaties (ie. Numbered Treaties) and agreements. We highly respect the Aboriginal opinion and plan to include them into our society more, by implementing things such as asking for their opinions on laws, etc. For example, having a First Nations MP in the Parliament can be very useful and helpful to determine bills and laws.
9. Immigration:
The J.L.A. believes that immigration is a very important and vital aspect of Canada’s past and future identity, but in the light of this, we also are looking to ensure that there is no more abuse of Canada’s immigration system. While we see all the opportunity in accepting immigrants and see the need to help them, we must be more selective about who we are accepting into our country; too often, many cheat their way into the system and aren’t contributing to the growth of our country. We see the importance of ensuring Canadians have jobs before those coming from elsewhere. To reduce, and eventually eliminate, abuse of the system, our plan is to simply tighten immigration laws, and lengthen the process of selecting immigrants, economic immigrants being first priority.

10. Science Tech and Research Development
The J.L.A. believes that scientific innovation is an important aspect of furthering Canada’s role in the science world. The J.L.A. Party is looking to spend more funds on on Canada’s research facilities on all types of fields such as space exploration, medical research (ex. cancer cure research), or software design. The more involved Canada is in the science field, the more it may help Canada’s citizens and economy.

I think you should add education to your chart
